I had my first and only VCUG at 7. For 11 years I thought it was a weird scary fever dream. Then I found these posts and everything made sense and I realized it was real and I wasn't alone and so many had similar stories to mine. Brought it up to my mom to see if she remembered she immediately did and started apologizing and putting the blame on herself. My therapist and I think it's a big part on why I struggle with intrusive thoughts and severe anxiety. I mourn who I might've been what this procedure took from me. There are still holes in my memory of this but what I do remember is detailed and graphic.
